Principles

How we hold ourselves to it

  • The stated requirement is a hypothesis

    Clients arrive with a proposed solution surprisingly often. Reframing is not a delay; it is where most of the value is created or lost.

  • Evidence before architecture

    We do not draw a target state until we can describe the current one with evidence the client recognises.

  • Decide what will not be done

    A roadmap that includes everything is a wish list. Explicit exclusions are part of every decision we document.

  • Build the smallest thing that settles the question

    Proofs are scoped to answer a specific question with agreed criteria, not to demonstrate that something is possible.

  • Governance is designed at the start

    Oversight, audit and escalation are part of the initial design. Retrofitting them costs several times more and works less well.

  • Leave the capability behind

    If the client cannot operate and evolve what we build together, the engagement has not finished.
